London Youth is a network of 320+ diverse community youth organisations working with young people of all backgrounds right across the capital. Their mission is to support and challenge young people to become the best they can be. More information at www.londonyouth.org
City Leaders is… A social action programme run by London Youth to develop young leaders from 15 organisations across London. It aims to support young people to develop project engagement skills, learn more about team work as well as develop presentation skills.
Through City Leaders young people will improve their youth club and also have a positive impact on their communities.
We hope all this will increase young people’s confidence and participation within their youth club or organisation. It has four stages:
-Team: a team of young people work together to run a group activity and learn about teamwork.
- Club: a team of young people develop and lead a project to improve their youth club, presenting an idea to London Youth staff.
- Community: a team of young people design their own project to have a positive impact on the community, presenting their idea to a panel at an exciting London venue.
- Future City Leaders: selected young people take part in an additional three-month leadership programme.
At this point you will be taking part in the Team, Club and Community stages, supported by a youth worker at their new established youth club throughout. Specific dates for the presentations will be confirmed with you after registration.
